Beet Burger

Ingredients
  • 00 2 medium sized beets roasted
  • 01 1/2 onion finely diced in a food processor
  • 02 1 tsp tamari sauce
  • 03 2 tsps cumin
  • 04 2 tsps coriander
  • 05 2 tsps garlic powder
  • 06 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 07 3 tbsps Himalayan Pink Salt Ghee
Preparation
  • 00 Place diced onions between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • 01 Heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • 02 Wash the beets and wrap them in aluminum foil.
  • 03 Place the beets in the oven for 40 minutes (check every 20 to ensure they aren't over or undercooked)
  • 04 Remove from oven, then remove the foil.
  • 05 Place in a paper bag to cool.
  • 06 After they are cool, run under cold water as you remove the peel.
  • 07 Cut the beet into quarters.
  • 08 Place them and your minced onions in the food processor with a regular blade.
  • 09 Add the remaining ingredients.
  • 10 The constancy should be able to form into patties without falling apart.
  • 11 You may need to add more corn flour if they don't stick.
  • 12 Once you get them to form molds make a 2 inch patty that is 1/2 inch thick.
  • 13 Heat a medium sized pan and add the Himalayan Salted Ghee.
  • 14 Place the burger carefully with a spatula in the pan and cook slowly on medium until you see it's cooked about halfway through, then carefully flip it to its other side.
  • 15 Once you see the other half has cooked through (about 2-3 minutes) then remove onto a plate with paper towels.
