10 Super Easy Ways to Start Cooking with Ghee Oil

10 Super Easy Ways to Start Cooking with Ghee Oil

1. Sauté Your Heart Out

This is the most obvious (and foolproof) method on our list – drizzle a few tablespoons into a pan and crank up the heat! Ghee’s high smoke point will allow you to sear or sauté your heart out.

2. In A Vinaigrette

A ghee oil vinaigrette will undoubtedly add a huge flavor boost to your everyday salad! Due to its buttery taste, try balancing a ghee oil-based dressing with a punch of acid like lemon juice or champagne vinegar. Add salt and pepper and drizzle over your favorite salad.

3. Shallow Frying

We cannot sing enough praises about ghee’s high smoke point, so why not put it to the test? Add ghee oil to the bottom of a heavy skillet (like cast iron) – enough so that it comes up about a half inch in the pan. Fry anything from chicken to shrimp to your favorite veggies – the possibilities are endless!

4. Infuse With Other Flavors & Aromatics

You’ve heard of infused oil, so why not infused GHEE oil? Add a cup of ghee oil to a small saucepan with whatever aromatics you like! Some of our favorites are chilis, garlic, lemon, or rosemary – just add to your ghee oil and turn off the heat once the mixture comes to a boil. Cool and bottle for yourself, or give to family  and friends!

5. Brush or Spray On Lean Meats & Seafood

Brush our pourable ghee oil or spray our sprayable ghee oil on lean meats or seafood like chicken breasts, swordfish, or shrimp. The delicious, buttery oil will lock in moisture while your protein cooks, but it will also give it that distinctive golden-brown color that we all love and crave.

6. Spray On A Baking Sheet or Baking Pan

Use our ghee spray like you would any other cooking spray, for cookies, cakes, and breads to ensure your treats come out of their baking vessels without any hassle!

7. As A Marinade

One of the most foolproof ways to give any dish tons of flavor is to marinate your protein before cooking it. Take chicken breast – try swapping olive oil (which can burn very easily if it’s overheated beyond its smoke point) with our ghee oil in a quick and easy marinade for grilled chicken! Add ghee oil, lemon juice, your favorite herbs, salt, and pepper to a large container, and marinate your chicken breasts for a few hours and cook!

8. As A Dip For Bread

If you love spreading ghee on some freshly baked bread, why not try our ghee oil instead? Mix a few tablespoons of ghee oil with salt, pepper, your favorite herbs, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Tear and dunk your bread in this incredible and simple side dish or appetizer!

9. As A Poaching Liquid

One of the most delicious ways to cook protein is to poach in olive oil, but poaching in ghee oil is even more delicious. Add salted salmon filets and enough ghee oil to a deep sauté pan to cover the fish (along with any aromatics that you like), and cook on low for 15-17 minutes until the salmon is tender and cooked through!

10. Drizzle or Spray Over Your Favorite Popcorn

You can use ghee oil or spray in several ways here. Add a few tablespoons to the bottom of a deep pot along with some salt and popcorn kernels, then cook until all of the popcorn is popped! Drizzle more ghee oil (or spray ghee!) on top of the hot popcorn and finish with whatever seasonings you like. Movie theater-style popcorn in the comfort of your own home!
