Garlicky Ghee Green Beans

These garlicky green beans are the perfect side dish for nearly any main. Serve them alongside a nice steak, chicken thighs, or salmon – the world is your oyster! Just make sure to make enough for everyone to have a second helping (trust us, they will).

Garlicky ghee green beans

Ingredients: ⁠

  • 3 cups green beans⁠
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp 4th & Heart Original Recipe Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil⁠
  • 4 cloves garlic / or ~3 1/2 tbs minced garlic⁠
  • Zest of lemon⁠
  • Juice of a lemon⁠
  • Flaky sea salt⁠


  1. Wash beans and trim the ends. Add 1-2 inches of water to a saucepan with a steamer basket and bring to a boil. Add beans to the steamer basket and cover. Reduce heat to medium and steam for about 4-5 minutes. ⁠
  2. Meanwhile, in a skillet- melt the ghee, and add the olive oil and garlic, stirring continuously until golden brown. (About 2-3 minutes)⁠
  3. Add the steamed beans to the skillet, toss to coat with the butter mixture and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a serving dish, top with flaky sea salt, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and the zest of a lemon. Serve and enjoy!⁠
