Steak with Truffle Ghee
Share
What You’ll Need:
- 4 Tbsp 4th & Heart Truffle Ghee, found exclusively at Whole Foods Market
- 4 (6 oz) New York strip steaks
- Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the steak by bringing it to room temperature (20-30 minutes prior to cooking) and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Preheat the oven to 350° F.
- Preheat an oven-safe cast iron skillet over medium- to medium-high heat. Add 2 Tbsp of truffle ghee to evenly coat the pan.
- Place the steak in the skillet. Sear on both sides for about 3-4 minutes per side. If the steak is thick, use tongs to sear the edges as well.
- Once seared, place pan with steaks in the oven, allowing them to bake 8-10 minutes until firm and reddish-pink in the center. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the steak is cooked to your desired temperature. Adjust cooking times based on the thickness of the steak and preferred level of doneness.
- Remove the steak from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute in the meat.
- Transfer the rested steak to a serving plate or cutting board. Place the final 2 Tbsp of Truffle ghee on top of the hot steak, allowing it to melt slightly over the steak before serving.
