Upside-down pear tarts

Upside-Down Pear Tarts

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, cut into six equal squares
  • 6 tbsp honey
  • 2-3 pears, sliced the long way into ¼” slices
  • 1 tbsp 4th & Heart Vanilla Ghee
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Slice the pears into even ¼” slices.
  3. Drizzle 1 tbsp of honey on 6 evenly spaced sections of a parchment or Silpat-lined baking sheet.
  4. Place 4-6 slices of pear on each drizzle of honey.
  5. Cover each set of pears with a puff pastry square. If the pastry square is too small to fully cover the pears, roll lightly with a rolling pin to increase to the desired size.
  6. Press the puff pastry to seal the edges, then crimp with a fork.
  7. Melt vanilla ghee and mix with 1 egg. Brush the egg wash over each puff pastry.
  8. Bake for about 20 minutes until puff pastry is golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 15 minutes, use a spatula to flip pastries over, showcasing the pears. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve!
